Star treatment

Once the kids got done with their school time it was time for me to do a little crafting. So I saw this as a card and thought it would be a perfect little gift for my eldest son. I know he’s gonna love it!

John’s Paw Patrol Muffins

After seeing E’s video go live on YouTube, J wanted to make something. He knew he wanted to make muffins, too, but deciding on what kind was a bit harder. He finally kept telling me he wanted to do Paw Patrol muffins... well, there’s no recipe for that. So, we decided to make muffins with ingredients both dog and human would like: peanut butter and bacon.

It had mixed reviews from the kids.  Chris ended up taking them to work where they were fully enjoyed.

Snowy day treat

Today was the first day of snow in the new year, and the first snow that’s stuck all winter. So the kids took that as a hot cocoa day after they spent some time outside playing.
Normally I would go to my favorite quick powdered cocoa mix, but I remembered we had received some fun wooden spoons covered in chocolate and mini marshmallows as a gift for Christmas. So we decided to try them out today.

They were the Target brand ones.  While they were lots of fun to stir in the cup with hot water and create the mix, the flavor just wasn’t there. The kids let it cool a little after stirring. Once they took a few sips they started to voice how it just tasted like water. 😔
So I ended up having to add in the powdered stuff, which made it taste much better.
So my overall opinion of the cute cocoa spoons is:👎
The fun and cuteness was there, but where it counted in flavor they were lacking.

LifeWay bundle

Recently I went online and to buy Kelly Minter’s Bible study “Finding God Faithful”.  When I went to LifeWay.com to order I found this amazing bundle   !  I was so excited to order it and I’m even more excited now that it has arrived.
The recipe book looks like it will be lots of fun, and it even can autographed!

I can’t wait to read both and glean wisdom from this lady. (And the dish towel is already hanging beautifully in my kitchen.)

Erin’s unicorn chip chocolate muffins

Erin found these vanilla unicorn chips at the grocery store the other day and has been searching for something to make with them. So when she stumbled across a chocolate chip muffin recipe she decided she wanted to do muffins.
So we sat down with a recipe book that was all about muffins. We couldn’t find just a straight chocolate chip recipe to work with, but we did find a mint chocolate chocolate chip recipe she liked. We had to do some tweaking on it by adjusting ingredients and leaving out things so we decided to write up a whole new recipe all her own. Here’s what we came up with:

We could hardly wait to make them fresh in the morning for everyone. When we got up we got everything out and ready to go,

 then we made this video

It’s not her first appearance on YouTube, because I would post videos of her when she was a baby. But it’s her first video appearance as a fully aware YouTuber. She did great and the muffins were delicious!

Nana Rose’s Fudge

Today was a fun day of bonding with E. We made one of nana Rose’s recipes for fudge.

Nana Rose's Fudge

The recipe is quite easy... just watch your boiling pot!  Have fun!

Nana Rose’s Fudge

No 1) large bowl:
3 packages chocolate chips (6 oz each)
2 cups nuts
1 jar marshmallow fluff

No 2)
4 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 lb butter
15 oz PET [evaporated] milk

Cook No 2 mixture to rolling boil and cook 9 minutes. Take off stove and add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and mix with No. 1. Turn in greased pan.

Choices in Study

So the women’s ministry is doing a Bible study on Job and one over Joseph called Finding God Faithful.

I bought both the books ahead of time, so now I have to choose which one I feel I can do... or do I dive in (and cancel other things in life) and do both?
With Job I can choose to attend either Wednesday nights or Thursday mornings. While the Joseph one is only available Wednesday night.
I don’t generally do Wednesday night studies anymore because E meets with her GS troop every other Wednesday. But I could swing it... I would just be late every other meeting.
The big question for this dilemma is should I do both or just Job on Thursday mornings?
